• Macomb County Health Department hosts October mammogram screenings (mlive.com) — St. Clair Shores residents can get free mobile mammogram screenings and health fair services at the Macomb County Health Department's Southeast Family Resource Center on Harper Avenue on Oct. 6. Women 40 and older can register regardless of insurance status, with additional flu shots, blood pressure checks, and financial resource information available, plus a later blood drive at the Warren event.
   

• Michigan hit-and-run case: Driver gets probation and weekend jail (cleveland.com) — A St. Clair Shores hit-and-run that killed 76-year-old Mary Hulswit has resulted in a sentence of two years' probation and 365 days of weekend jail for driver Stephanie Holt. Macomb County prosecutors say the case underscores the legal and moral consequences of leaving an injury crash without immediately stopping and calling for help.
