Officials identified the vessels involved in the crash as a 1981 23-foot black Formula Thunderbird and a 1991 28-foot white Sea Ray Sundancer.

Officials said a 58-year-old Cheseterfield Township woman was ejected from the Formula Thunderbird when the crash happened.

She was able to swim to shore, where a resident called 911, officials said.

Officials began searching for the remaining individuals believed to have been on the boat.

At 5 a.m. Thursday, rescuers recovered three people from the submerged Formula Thunderbird, officials said.

Officials identified them as 52-year-old Craig Miller, of Macomb Township, 56-year-old Heidi Baldwin, of St. Clair Shores and 64-year-old Gerald Grzadzinski, of Chesterfield Township.

The 58-year-old woman, who survived the crash and swam to shore, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Officials identified the operator of the Sea Ray Sundancer as a 40-year-old Roseville man, who has been cooperating with investigators.

Officials said a 36-year-old woman and another woman and child were also on the Sea Ray Sundancer.

It was immediately unclear if they were injured in the crash.

Investigators were still trying to piece together what caused the crash.

WDIV aerial footage of the Formula Thunderbird showed significant damage to the boat, including a large hole on the starboard side.
