“As a career college, Baker College’s strength is providing a more direct path to career employment,” said Annette Looser, Baker College of Clinton Township vice president for admissions. “Students transfer to Baker College for a variety of reasons. The common denominator is that their plans have changed from the initial onset of attending college. They have a better understanding of their interests and turn to our programs to take them from being generalists to having the skills and training for specific jobs.
“Our goal for the open house is to present personalized information for each attendee about relevant bachelor’s, associate and certificate career programs and what is needed to make a smooth transition to Baker College.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring transcripts for all college and university academic credits they have earned. To assist with financial aid counseling, participants should bring 2014 U.S. federal tax forms 1040 and W-2 for students – and parents if the student is claimed as a dependent, and 2014 untaxed income amounts (e.g., Aid to Dependent Children, Social Security, child support, etc.).
