Business Brief: Go Green Salon Honored
Go Green Salon was recently selected as one of the 101 Best and Brightest Sustainable Companies for 2012 by Corp! magazine, Davenport University and dmStrategists.
The will be honored today in Grand Rapids as one of the 101 Best and Brightest Sustainable Companies in Michigan.
The salon was recognized for providing a healthy setting while remaining eco-friendly.
“When building this facility, it was of the utmost importance to me that my team and our guests who visit had a safe, healthy and warm environment. I felt it was also necessary to use only environmentally-friendly products and provide services that are healthy for all,” said Go Green Salon president, and owner, Maggie Varney in a release.

Varney will attending the awards ceremony today at Davenport University in Grand Rapids. The ceremony is presented by Corp! magazine, Davenport University, and dmStrategists.
Go Green features natural materials in the physical structure of the building including bamboo flooring to non-toxic paint on the walls, and eco-friendly products for clients.

The salon, and other winning companies, were evaluated and scored by an independent research firm in the following categories: education, communication, strategic planning and operational implementation, innovation and problem solving, building and grounds, community leadership, workforce and financial performance.
Go Green Salon is located in the Wellness Center.
