Senters Resigns as Football Coach at South Lake
Steve Senters had led South Lake football team to consecutive MAC Bronze Division championships.

After turning the football program into a in the Macomb Area Conference, Cavs football coach Steve Senters resigned from the position effective Nov. 18, according to South Lake athletic director Jason Kasparian.
"We received a letter of resignation from Coach Senters," Kasparian said. "We accepted this letter of resignation and posted an opening for the position last week."
Senters was the driving force behind the program's turnaround in recent years, which included a combined 16-4 record over the past two seasons and a pair of titles.

The program hasn't lost a division contest since 2009.
"We're grateful to Coach Senters for what he's done here at South Lake," Kasparian said. "Very grateful."

The Cavs now face the task of replacing Senters and continuing the tradition set in motion by the departing coach and his staff.
"We're going to take as long as it takes to find the right person for the position," Kasparian said. "There's no closing date on the posting and that was something we did intentionally. When we find the right person then we'll fill the position."
Senters was unavailable for comment.
