Child Dies Days After Warren Apartment Fire: Reports
An 8-year-old girl died from smoke inhalation after she was injured in a Wednesday morning Warren apartment fire, reports said.
WARREN, MI — An 8-year-old girl died from smoke inhalation after she was injured in a Wednesday morning Warren apartment fire, according to reports citing Warren Mayor Jim Fouts.
Laurii’ell Brown was rushed to a nearby hospital Wednesday morning with burns to her arms and face after a fire broke out at the Warren Manor on Dequindre Road, near Eight Mile Road, WXYZ reported.
After Brown was listed in stable condition for several days, her family confirmed Sunday she died at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, the Macomb Daily reported.

"I hope the fire department is able to not only find the cause of this tragedy but information to prevent this situation in the future," Warren Mayor Jim Fouts told the newspaper. "My heart goes out to the parents of this little girl!"
As of Monday morning, officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
