Cop Watches Allegedly Drunken Motorist Crash into Boat Shop
The suspect's blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit, police said
A 28-year-old Novi man was arrested on drunken driving charges after he allegedly ran a stop sign and crashed into a boat repair shop in Macomb County’s Harrison Township about 2 a.m. on July 4,
The man, whose name hasn’t been released, had a blood alcohol content that was twice the tolerable limit of 0.08 percent in Michigan, twice failing sobriety tests with readings of 0.16 percent and 0.17 percent, according to a news release from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy on patrol witnessed the 2015 Chrysler 200, which was northbound on Jefferson, cross River Road and ram through the front of Blue Water Marine, 30201 South River Road.

The driver told police he had been drinking at a local bar.
He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He posted $100 bond and was released from jail.
