International custody case resolved
A settlement has been reached in a custody suit between a St. Clair Shores man and his Japanese wife over over their 8-year-old son, according to Macomb Circuit Court records and the Associated Press.
The couple were to appear in Macomb Circuit Court for hearing, which was cancelled after Carl and Mayumi Mueller "reconciled."
The Muellers married in 2002. Carl Mueller took the boy from Japan to China, in part because of the couple’s faltering relationship, according to the report. The father and son moved to the St. Clair Shores with his parents. Mayumi Mueller accused Carl Mueller of "abducting" the child. Other terms of the agreement were not available.
