Dirt Bike Rider Fatally Injured in Macomb County
Curtis J. Smith, 32, of Hazel Park, was riding his dirt bike on private property when he crashed into a tree, authorities said.
LENOX TOWNSHIP, MI — A 32-year-old Hazel Park man was riding trails on private property when he crashed his dirt bike into a tree and died Saturday afternoon, the Macomb County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Monday.
Curtis J. Smith crashed his 2013 Honda dirt bike near the 66000 block of Forest in Lenox Township about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office said. He was wearing a helmet.
A witness began performing CPR until sheriff's deputies and Lenox Township firefighters arrive and took ovr the life-saving measures. Smith was pronounced dead around 5 p.m., according to the statement.
