Driver Crashes Into State Police Car On I-94 In St. Clair Shores: Cops

A trooper and the at-fault driver both suffered minor injuries in the crash, but the driver refused medical attention, officials said.

ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — A parked Michigan State Police cruiser was struck by another driver Wednesday night on Interstate 94 in St. Clair Shores, officials said.

The police cruiser was parked in the right lane on westbound Interstate 94 near 10 Mile Road with its emergency lights on while investigating a separate crash on the freeway, officials said.

As troopers were investigating the crash, a driver traveling in the left lane lost control, crossed all lanes of traffic and crashed into the back of the patrol car, officials said. The force of the crash pushed the patrol car into the vehicle that had crashed initially.

A trooper was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries and was released. The at-fault driver and passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash, but refused medical attention, police said.
