“Bash at the Beach” Car Show

If you're a fan of Fords or classic cars in general, you'll love the 11th annual “Bash at the Beach” car show being held Aug. 6 at Metro Beach Metropark. More than 150 classic Ford and Mercury car owners are expected to cruise into the park in the morning and linger into the evening, weather permitting.

The show is open to anyone with a 1962-1976 Torino, Fairlane or a “cousin” car such as a Cyclone, Montego, Comet or Meteor.

Registration will be held from 10 a.m.-noon, with voting from 1-3 p.m. and trophy presentations at 4 p.m.. Other classic Fords, 1979 and older, are also welcome, but not eligible for judging or trophies.

The event is presented by the Fairlane Club of America, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, restoration and enjoyment of the 1962-1976 Fairlane/Torino cars. Check out www.TorinoCobra.com for details.

A vehicle entry permit is required to enter any Metropark and is only $25 annually for regular admission, $15 annually for seniors, or $5 daily.  General information can be found at www.metroparks.com or by calling 800-47-PARKS.
