Fires Damage Pair Of St. Clair Shores Homes

Two St. Clair Shores homes were damaged by fire last week. No people were injured in the incidents.

ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — A pair of recent house fires in St. Clair Shores caused damage, but no people were hurt. On Friday, a fire in the 20000 block of Bayside started in the kitchen of a two-story house. The homeowner found her home on fire upon returning home, but was unable to put it out herself, according to a C & G Newspapers' report.

"Firefighters were able to find two dogs who were hiding in the home and a firefighter had to resuscitate one of the dogs, Fire Marshal M. Bodnar said. Both small dogs suffered from smoke inhalation, but are expected to recover.
A second fire broke out around 11 a.m. July 13 in the 30000 block of Rosebriar Street. Bodnar said that four people live in the home, but only the oldest son was there at the time, with his girlfriend and dog. The couple was in the house when neighbors pounded on the door to tell them that there was smoke pouring out of the vent of the garage, which the family uses for entertainment."
