Chatting with my mom not too long ago and the subject of getting older came up. She said one of the hardest parts was losing the ability to do some of the things you once were able to do...over and over again. I shared with her an example of something I once did but won't any longer. At the same time I said that I am constantly adding new "first time" experiences to my life so I don't believe (if I keep this mindset) that I will feel those "give ups" as much. Bottom line: There is NO need to stop experiencing things for the first time as you get older and only experience the "detracts". In fact, if anything it's THE time to start finding new experiences! Death-defying feats not necessary (but a good adrenaline rush makes you feel ALIVE!) go new places, try new things, occasionally thumb your nose at convention and intentionally seek out an adventure! Make it fresh, make it fun, make it last, make it count...make it GRAND!
