Justin Stokes, one of the witnesses to the accident, told the Detroit Free Press he was talking on his phone when he saw the injured woman lying on a front yard across the street. Two children stood beside the bleeding woman. One was crying, the other was on the phone. The woman’s SUV was in the middle of the street.
“It was a bad scene,” Stokes said. “I tried to help the kids stop crying ... I tried to stay relaxed.”
Police said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
