Husband Fatally Shoots Wife In Metro Detroit: Report

Police are unsure what led up to the shooting.

CENTER LINE, MI — A man has been arrested after he fatally shot his wife Tuesday in metro Detroit, WDIV reports.

The shooting happened at 5:30 p.m. in the 7500 block of Sterling Street in Center Line, according to police.

When officers arrived, police said they found a 38-year-old woman with a single gunshot wound. They provided emergency care, but the woman died at the scene, police said.

Officers did learn the possible shooter was the woman's husband, a 39-year-old man who ran away from the scene, the report said.

He was arrested shortly later in the area of 10 Mile and Wainwright Street, police said.

Police have not released the identity of the victim or the suspect. They are still unsure what led up to the shooting, as they continue their investigation.
