The Lake House Partners with the American Red Cross for Blood Drive August 21
The Lake House, a gathering place providing support services to those touched by cancer, is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive on August 21, 1-7 p.m. The blood drive will take place at The Lake House (located at 26701 Little Mack Ave., St. Clair Shores, Mich.). The Lake House welcomes everyone to participate; its goal is to collectively provide 25 pints of blood to the American Red Cross which could save up to 75 lives.
Blood donation appointments are still available - interested donors can sign up for an appointment at www.redcrossblood.org by searching “milakehouse” or by calling The Lake House (586) 777-7761.
The Lake House offers a multitude of programs to assist those touched by cancer, from caregiver and bereavement groups, to wellness activities – including yoga and zumba, a speaker series that features health care professionals and other experts that speak to a variety of cancer and general wellness topics.

The Lake House
The Lake House mission is to provide a safe harbor to support, educate and empower those touched by cancer. To fulfill this mission, the nonprofit provides a variety of services for survivors, caregivers, friends and family and those who have lost someone to cancer. Along with support groups, The Lake House offerings include wellness activities, such as yoga and Zumba, in addition to social and creative opportunities, like crafting and journaling. Newly featured programs include a weekly Caregivers Support Group and a Writing for Wellness group. Additionally, educational presentations by local experts are available throughout the year to the larger community. Private and foundation donations, along with fundraising events, allow The Lake House to provide all programs free of charge.
