Macomb Co. Man Dies After Crashing Into Pole In Warren: Police
Officials said the driver was speeding at least 50 miles per hour when he lost control and struck a pole in Warren.
WARREN, MI — A 29-year-old Harrison Township man died Monday morning after his car struck a curb and crashed into a pole in Warren, police said.
Warren Police said Devin Smith was speeding at least 50 miles per hour in a 1992 Mercury Cougar at 3:45 a.m. when he lost control and hit the pole in the area of 8 Mile Road and Groesbeck Highway, reports said.
Police determined Smith was not wearing his seatbelt and said there's no evidence he tried stopping the car, police said.

Investigators were still trying to determine if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
One lane on Groesbeck Highway was still closed Monday morning as officials were still investigating the crash.
