Macomb Co. Teen Charged After Threatening To Shoot Up School: Police
The teen was charged with one count each of threat of terrorism (a 20-year felony) and school threats (a one-year misdemeanor).
WARREN, MI — A 13-year-old student is facing charges after threatening to shoot up a Macomb County middle school and kill a fellow student on Monday, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
The teen, whose identity was not released, was charged with one count each of threat of terrorism (a 20-year felony) and school threats (a one-year misdemeanor).
The teen was being held at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center and was denied bond. The teen was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation. Their next court date was scheduled for Nov. 11.

Prosecutors did not release specific details in the threat or what may have promoted the threat.
"My office has a zero tolerance policy for all school threats," Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido said. "We affirm our commitment to safeguarding every student's right to learn and all teachers' right to teach without the threat of violence."
