Macomb County Sheriff's Office Warns Of Phone Scam

The caller claims to be an employee at the sheriff's office and asks for money to help with an arrest warrant or Jury Duty.

MACOMB COUNTY — The Macomb County Sheriff's Office told residents Wednesday to contact the office if they receive a call from someone claiming to be an employee and asking for money.

Officials said the caller does not work for the office, and Macomb County Officials will not request money in the form of cash, gift cards or bitcoin for an arrest, sex offender registration or jury duty.

Money for a bond will only be accepted at the bond office, located in the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
