Man Arrested In Connection To Mt. Clemens Fatal Accident: Police
The 58-year-old woman from Harrison Township was struck by the truck at the intersection of Cass Avenue and S South Rose Street at 1:25 p.m.
MT. CLEMENS, MI — A man was arrested Monday after fatally striking a pedestrian while fleeing police in a stolen truck in Mt. Clemens, the Macomb County Sheriff's office said.
The 58-year-old woman from Harrison Township was struck by the truck at the intersection of Cass Avenue and S South Rose Street at 1:25 p.m., after the man sped away from an undercover officer who spotted the the stolen truck, authorities said.
She was transported to McLaren Hospital where she died shortly later, authorities said.

Police attempted to apprehend the 41-year-old black man once the officer with the Macomb Auto Theft Squad spotted the stolen truck, but he sped away, authorities said.
As the man sped away, he struck at least one undercover vehicle before striking the woman, authorities said.

The man was arrested shortly later without incident, and is currently being held in the Macomb County Sheriff's Office without bond while the investigation continues, authorities said.
