Man In Wheelchair Hit, Killed By Vehicle In Macomb County: Sheriff

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MI — A man in an electric wheelchair was hit and killed by a vehicle Sunday in Harrison Township, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said the man was crossing a road in the crosswalk in the area of Metropolitan Parkway and North Pointe Parkway at 4:45 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle.

Two nurses administered CPR to the man before officials took him to a nearby hospital where he died, officials said.

The suspected driver, a 42-year-old Harper Woods woman, stayed at the scene, officials said.

The woman was arrested in connection to the fatal crash on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired, officials said.
