Murder Charges Dropped Against Teens In Deadly Fraser Stabbing: Report
Macomb County officials dropped the murder charges after they said the act was in self-defense, reports said.
FRASER, MI — Macomb County officials dropped murder charges against three teens in connection to a deadly Fraser stabbing that left one teen dead and two others hurt after officials said the act was in self-defense, reports said.
A 16-year-old boy, 16-year-old girl and 15-year-old girl were each charged with multiple felonies, including one count of felony murder, in connection to a stabbing that left one dead and two injured just outside two Fraser schools on Sept. 13 in the area of Garfield and Klein roads.
The boy was also charged with once count of assault with intent to murder charge and a home invasion charge, but Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido plans to amend the murder charge since the teens cannot be charged with murder, the report said. His bond was set at $750,000

The two girls are still facing two counts of assault and battery, which carries a 93-day misdemeanor, as well as home invasion, which carries a 20-year sentence. Their bonds were set at $200,000.
All three teens were expected to appear in count again sometime in October.

Officials did not elaborate on the details surrounding the stabbing, or how they determined self-defense was used.
Although the stabbing did not happen at the schools, the incident was close enough to send the schools into a "brief" lockdown, police said.
Officials said the juveniles in the fight were students from nearby Fraser schools, and police believe the stabbings resulted from a confrontation after they left the high school.
