Peanuts for a Skate Park

Members of the St. Clair Shores Extreme Sports Club will be joining the Lac St. Clair Kiwanis to sell peanuts to raise funds for the proposed skate park.

A group of dedicated children will take to the streets Saturday, and and they will have the permission and support of their parents.

The effort has gained support of the community including, which has been selling T-shirts to raise funds for the skate park.

Martinez added that park has been designed for skateboards, BMX bicycles and wheelchairs.

Organizers are hoping to raise $50,000 for the first phase of the park.
