Pedestrian Killed In I-94 Crash; Driver Arrested

A 45-year-old man was struck by a suspected drunk driver on eastbound I-94 Saturday afternoon.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A man was killed and another was critically injured after a suspected drunk driver struck the two on I-94 Saturday afternoon, Clinton Township Police said.

The two victims, a 45-year-old man and a 22-year-old man lost control of their white Suburban and hit the wall on eastbound I-94 near Harper, police said.

Once a tow truck arrived, the two men began walking toward the truck when the driver of a Chevy Malibu lost control struck the two men at 4:52 p.m., police said.

The 45-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and the 22-year-old was transported to McLaren hospital where he remains in critical condition, police said.

The 29-year-old suspected drunk driver was arrested on the scene, police said.
