A small fire Friday afternoon in the heating and ventilation system of St. Mary's Nursing Home in St. Clair Shores is extinguished.

St. Clair Shores to a small fire in the heating and ventilation system at Friday afternoon.

The fire was extinguished and nursing home personnel were able to shut down the system to keep the building from filling with smoke, according to Lt. Dave Salerno. 

Residents were not evacuated, and there were no injuries.
