Police Blotter: Police Investigate Bicycle Thefts

The following information is gathered from the St. Clair Shores Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Bicycles Reported Stolen

Police are investigating a number of recent reports of bicycles stolen including:

  • A bicycle stolen on July 20 from .
  • A BMX-style bicycle stolen from the Violet and Harper area on July 23. A male with long hair and a red baseball cap was seen taking the bicycle.
  • Another BMX-style bicycle that was reported stolen July 24 from Gaffke Park.
  • Also on July 24, a bicycle was reported stolen from in front of a home in the 27000 block of Benjamin. 

DTE Energy Employee Assaulted

Police are investigating a report of a DTE Energy employee who reported that he was assaulted July 21 in the 21900 block of Greater Mack. The employee reported that he was at a building disconnecting the service for no payment when a man was yelling and pointing his finger in the face of the 30-year-old victim. 

Items Stolen from Purse

A 36-year-old woman from Westland reported that she had money and credit cards stolen from her purse at the bar during the early-morning hours of July 24. The woman told police that a woman approached her at the bar and started yelling at her for no reason. After the incident, she noticed her purse was missing and a witness reportedly saw a male about 6 feet tall and between 160 and 190 pounds, wearing a white shirt, white shoes and hat, running from the bar, according to a report.
