Police Investigate Armed Robbery in Driveway

The following information is gathered from the St. Clair Shores Police Department. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

St. Clair Shores police are investigating an armed robbery of a resident early July 19 in the 22000 block of Alger by two men.

According to police, two men approximately 20-years-old who were wearing black or navy hoodies approached the resident as he exited his vehicle about 2 a.m. July 19.

One of the one of the suspects, armed with a stainless steel or nickel platted handgun, ordered the victim “not to move” and took an undetermined amount of currency, according to police.

The suspects were described as:

  • First suspect: A medium to dark complected black male in his late teens to early 20s, about 5-feet 8-inches tall to 5-feet 9-inches tall, approximately 190 to 200 pounds, who was wearing a black or blue hooded sweatshirt, white t-shirt and baggie blue jeans.
  • Second suspect: A black male with medium complexion, late teens to early 20s, about 5-feet 9-inches to 5-feet 10-inches tall, approximately 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black or navy blue hooded sweatshirt and baggie blue jeans.
Police report that prior to arriving home, the victim had stopped at a gas station in Harper Woods and observed a younger black male while in the gas station paying for merchandise. He was observed to be followed out of the station by one of the possible suspects.

As the suspects fled from the home, the resident ran into his home and reportedly heard the getaway vehicle - a 2008 to 2010 Dodge Charger grayish blue or dark color - drive away.

The victim was not injured during the robbery.
