Police Looking for Man Who Grabbed Cash from Register and Ran

Video captures incident at CVS on Greater Mack.

(Originally published Oct. 4, 2016) ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — He came up to the register at a CVS with a bottle of cough syrup and handed the cashier a note: “Could you give me money.” When the cashier refused, the suspect reached over the counter and began pushing buttons on the register, eventually knocking it to the floor. He grabbed some cash from the register and ran, C & G Newspapers reports.

The man had his hand in his pocket pointing as if he had a gun, but the cashier said she did not believe he was armed. The cashier tried to block the man, but he was able to grab a handful of $20 and $10 bills. The police were called to the store, in the 22000 block of Greater Mack Avenue, shortly after 9 p.m. Sept. 24.

The cashier and manager described the suspect as a white man about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds in his late 20s or early 30s with blond curly hair, wearing a gray jacket, blue sweatpants and a scruffy beard.
