Preliminary Exam Adjourned for St. Clair Shores Man Charged With Child Porn

The preliminary exam for Shawn Reginaldo, who is charged with possessing more than 100 child pornography photos, was adjourned Tuesday in U.S. District Court.

The preliminary exam for a 27-year-old St. Clair Shores man charged with possessing, distributing and receiving child pornography was adjourned Tuesday because his attorney was in trial. Shawn Reginaldo, who is alleged to have possessed more than 100 child pornography photos in addition to abusive and graphic stories, was to face a federal judge in U.S. District Court in Detroit. According to court officials defense attorney Stephen Rabaut was in trial on another case. A new date for the exam has not been set.Rabaut and Assistant United States Attorney Matthew Roth are engaged in plea negotiations, according to court documents.  According to court documents, federal officials had been investigating Reginaldo for nearly 13 months. Police initially identified him after arresting a minor in Topeka, Kansas, for distributing child pornography and linked him to viewing and posting images in the online photo album linked to the minor. Reginaldo is alleged to have posted pornographic and erotic photos in the online group. If convicted, Reginaldo could face up to 40 years in prison.
