September -- AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Month, Free Events, Advice from Pet Store
To promote "Responsible Dog Ownership Month," The Family Puppy is hosting free events to answer any and all training questions

The American Kennel Club (AKC), the world’s largest registry of purebred dogs and advocate for canine companionship, health, well being is working to promote responsible dog ownership, and has designated the month of September as “Responsible Dog Ownership Month.”
John and Debbie Stottele, founders of The Family Puppy, premium local pet stores, have tips for families to become responsible pet owners. John was recently named to an AKC advisory board that will help implement AKC Responsible Dog Ownership standards on a retail level across the nation.
“Most puppy owners want to do the right thing for their pets but they are not always sure what’s right and what’s not,” said Stottele. “Many pet owners, especially first timers, have questions about proper puppy training, housebreaking, and other behavior issues they encounter.”

“Every puppy is different and every breed is different,” he said. “There’s no such thing as a stupid question when it comes to your pet’s behavior. That’s why we have partnered with AKC’s Good Dog Helpline for expert advice.”
The Family Puppy purchases Good Dog Helpline as a lifelong resource to everyone that purchases a puppy from them. Now they are opening this to the community. “Our ASK-A-TRAINER event will be a great experience and could most likely become a regular practice,” said Stottele. “Buying a puppy is a long-term commitment, and we want to be there for our customers every step of the way.”
