Sheetz Opens Newest Metro Detroit Location

WARREN, MI — Sheetz opened its newest Detroit-area location Tuesday.

The popular mid-Atlantic gas station and convenience store chain opened a spot at 5920 12 Mile Road in Warren.

"Warren has been on our radar as a community we’re excited to serve, and today’s turnout is a reflection of just how ready this community was for Sheetz," Sheetz Public Affairs Manager Nick Ruffner said. "We’re expanding our roots here, and we can’t wait for Warren residents to experience everything Sheetz has to offer."

This is the second store to open in Warren and the fifth Sheetz's in the Detroit area. They are planning to open 50-60 stores in Michigan over the next 5-6 years.

• 7840 Haggerty Rd., Belleville
• 2003 12 Mile Rd., Warren
• 3200 West 14 Mile Rd., Royal Oak
• 50980 North Ave., Macomb

The chain is best known for its award-winning Made-to-Order menu, which allows residents, or "Sheetz Freakz" to order any of Sheetz’s customized drinks or food items around the clock.

Public reactions to Sheetz's expansion into the metro Detroit area have been mixed. While some welcome the chain to fill in vacant lots and buildings, others have voiced concerns about traffic, noise and light pollution.

Sheetz operates 800+ store locations across Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland, with all locations open 24/7, 365 days a year.
