Shores Man Charged in Attack with a Fan

Franklin Kakos is alleged to have hit his wife with a fan, sending her to the hospital.

A 37-year-old St. Clair Shores man is being held in the Macomb County Jail for an alleged attack on his wife. 

Franklin Kakos was arraigned Friday on a charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder for the incident on May 26.

Kakos is alleged to have gotten in an argument with his wife in their home on the 21000 block of Arrowhead. During the argument, he is alleged to have struck his 43-year-old wife with a fan.

His wife was hospitalized for three broken ribs and a collapsed lung. 

"The victim is absolutely horrified (of Kakos)," said St. Clair Shores police Det. Jim Wagner, during the arraignment in 40th District Court.

Judge Mark Fratarcangeli gave Kakos a $250,000 cash bond. Kakos must wear a GPS tether if he is released. He is not allowed to have contact with his wife. 

Kakos disputed the allegations and said with the high bond, "I am not going to see daylight anytime soon."

Kakos will return to court on June 28 for a preliminary exam.
