The dog's owner told police the woman was upset with the dog barking and kicked it in the face, according to police.
EASTPOINTE, MI — A 19-year-old woman could face charges after kicking a small dog in the face, causing it to lose its eye, according to Eastpointe Police.
Police said a woman came into the lobby of the Eastpointe police station at 6 p.m. Wednesday and reported the incident.
She told officers that when she returned home earlier that day, her 3-year-old Shih-poo (Shih tzu-Toy Poodle mix) became excited and started barking, according to police.

The woman said her 19-year-old daughter was upset by the barking and kicked the small dog in the face, according to police.
The woman took her injured dog to an emergency veterinarian, who told her the dog had suffered head trauma and that his eye had popped out of the socket, according to police.
