South Lake Soccer Hopes to Continue Playoff Success

South Lake girls soccer squad continues state tourney title chase Thursday night against Center Line.

The girls soccer teams had an incredible regular season.

The Cavaliers rolled over the competition in the Macomb Area Conference Silver Division, finishing a perfect 12-0 in the division and wrapping up a MAC title.

That, however, was the regular season.

Now, with the state playoffs in full swing, the squad is looking to continue this success all the way to a district championship.

That quest continues Thursday night against a worthy foe—Center Line High at 6:30 p.m. on the soccer field.

The contest is the second of two district semifinals hosted by Lake Shore and scheduled for Thursday night. The first game pits Regina against . 

The winners of each semifinal advance to the district finale June 4 at 4 p.m. at Lake Shore.

Tonight's matchup for South Lake is in an intriguing one since these two squads finished one-two in the Silver this season and are very familiar with one another.

The two met twice during the regular season with the Cavs winning both games by a combined score of 10-2.
