St. Clair Shores DPW Update On Essential Services

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Water Department employees continue to ensure that our drinking water is of the highest quality.

The Department of Public Works (DPW) Water Department employees continue to ensure that our drinking water is of the highest quality. The DPW monitors our water for contaminants such as bacteria, organics and metals. The DPW collects samples each month at as many as 36 locations throughout our City. With many of these buildings closed due to the COVID-19 crisis the DPW has had to install outdoor sampling stations that are clean and secure to collect the samples. Currently the DPW is also collecting water samples for lead & copper testing. If your home has a lead service line and you are interested in having your water sampled for lead & copper please call the DPW at (586) 445-5374 to be added to a future pool of addresses to be sampled at.
