This old dresser was painted a pale blue in its former life.
We rescued it from the basement of an estate sale. Unfortunately we didn't get a "before" photo of it (ugh!) I normally take photos of everything I do prior to beginning the refinishing process. It's a great way to keep record of the progress. This piece needed to be stripped, primed and completely painted. I selected porcelain "pumpkin" knobs to replace the wooden ones. I had envisioned this dresser as a pale yellow and my vision was bang on. It turned out great!
The detail on the front of the drawers were hand-carved. I estimate this dresser to be from the late 1800's or early 1900's. It has fluted front edges, likely carved by hand as well. Hopefully this one will find a good home. I'm currently offering this dresser for sale on Craig's List for $130.00.
