Teen Killed In Hit-And-Run On I-696 In Macomb County: Police
The teen was reported missing two hours before the crash, according to Michigan State Police.
ROSEVILLE, MI — A 14-year-old boy was killed Friday morning in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 696 in Roseville, according to Michigan State Police.
Troopers said the Warren boy was walking on the Groesbeck Highway entrance ramp onto eastbound Interstate 696 at 4:25 a.m. when he was struck by a car.
Officials found the teen lying in the roadway and began performing CPR, but those efforts were unsuccessful and they declared the teen dead at the scene, according to Michigan State Police.

The driver who hit the teen never stopped and police did not immediately release a vehicle description, according to Michigan State Police.
Witnesses told troopers they saw the teen stumbling in the roadway prior to the crash, according to Michigan State Police.

Police were still investigating the crash and said drivers can expect delays in the area. The eastbound Groesbeck Highway entrance ramp and the right lane of Interstate 696 reopened Friday morning.
Michigan State Police First Lieutenant Mike Shaw said although officials have evidence from the crash scene, investigators are still looking for witnesses to fill in the final pieces.
