Toddler, 3, Nearly Drowns in St. Clair Shores
A swimmer pulled the unresponsive girl from swimming pool and lifeguards successfully resuscitated her.

St. Clair Shores, MI — A swimmer pulled an unresponsive 3-year-old girl from a municipal swimming pool after she nearly drowned around 7:30p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.
Lifeguards were able to resuscitate the toddler before rescue crews arrived.

“Once the lifeguards worked on her, they expelled water from the child. When our crew arrived, she was conscious and crying,” St. Clair Shores fire Lt. Shawn Goldie told The Macomb Daily.

[RECIC]The girl was taken to a St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit by St. Clair Shores ambulance. Her condition was not immediately available, the newspaper said.
The pool is located at Lake Front Park in St. Clair Shores, but is operated by the city of Grosse Pointe Woods. The pool was reportedly crowded due to heat and humidity.
