2. Rotten egg odor expected near TC Central High during DTE gas work (9and10news.com) β Expect a visible gas flare and noticeable rotten-egg odor near Traverse City Central High on Tuesday as DTE upgrades a natural gas pipeline, with traffic control but no closures. The odor may linger about a week, and crews will return around Oct. 13 for a shorter flare. Residents are urged to call 911 and DTE if they suspect a real leak.

Munson Medical Drones Jump From 1 Mile to 30 After DroneUp Quit (dronexl.co) β Munson Healthcare is launching a new phase of its medical drone trial, flying supplies and lab samples between Munson Medical Center in Traverse City and Crystal Lake Health Center in Frankfort through October. The project dramatically expands range from about one mile to 30, with a new operator, Blueflite, taking over after DroneUp's exit. Results could shape future rural medical deliveries across northern Michigan.

Epson Tour's Great Lakes Championship moving to The Bear in 2027 (9and10news.com) β Traverse City will host the LPGA Epson Tour's Great Lakes Championship at The Bear at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa starting June 14-20, 2027, under a new name. Expect pro-ams, community events, and three days of championship play on one of Michigan's toughest courses, with more details on sponsorships, volunteers, and spectators coming soon.
