Eleven Cars Damaged in One Night in Trenton

A recent rash of malicious destruction of property has the on high alert.
More than 10 vehicles parked in Trenton were reported damaged sometime during the night between March 31 and April 1.
Nearly all residents reported their vehicles’ windows were broken out. Some residents found a brown brick inside their vehicle.

Trenton Police Chief Jim Nardone said police are aware of the increased occurrence of property damage to vehicles and are working hard to catch the person(s) involved.
“Our midnight shift is on it, but it’s very difficult to catch people committing random acts of property damage,” Nardone said. “We are on it.”

Not all incidents involved brown bricks. Some residents reported finding other hard objects. A landscaping brick, a brown rock, a gray rock and a piece of concrete were found in vehicles with broken windows.
One resident reported hearing the sound of a “performance muffler” driving away immediately after he heard the sound of something shattering according to a police report.
