A parent cooperative preschool is organized by a group of families with similar philosophies who hire a trained teacher to provide their children with a quality preschool experience. The preschool is administered and maintained by the parents on a non-profit basis. The parents assist the professional teacher in the classroom on a rotating basis and participate in the educational program of all the children. Each family shares in the business operation of the school, making it truly a cooperative venture. Parents, preschool children and their teachers all go to school and learn together. Most importantly, choosing a cooperative preschool gives you extra time to bond with your child, a hands on approach to your child’s early education, and an opportunity to create memories together. Island Preschool Co-Opoffers a play based program that encourages exploration,a daily schedule that includes active indoor and outdoor physical play, hands on explorations in early literacy, writing, early math, science and social studies as well as the integration of music, movement and creative expression. We offer 2 large rooms, and a large outdoor area for plenty of learning fun!

Our 3,4 and K-Prep programs offer a one of a kind experience for children to play, grow and learn while preparing them for a successful kindergarten experience.Our highly qualified, licensed teacher has 16 years of preschool experience, a degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and attends ongoing classes to stay current with best practices.
