Hazardous Weather Alert for Southeast Michigan
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather statement for metro Detroit.

The National Weather Service says Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Wayne Counties are under a slight risk for severe thunderstorms capable of producing 1-inch hail and strong wind gusts up to 60 mph today and tonight.
Strong storms will generally be south of the I-94 corridor today before the storm system shifts north tonight through the northern suburbs and eventually north of the M-59 corridor overnight.

More severe weather is in the forecast for Friday as a tropical airmass and low pressure area will allow thunderstorms to develop, some of which could be severe. Damaging winds and torrential rainfall producing flooding will be the main hazards.
The threat continues through Friday evening.
