Heavy Rain Causes Flash Flooding in Lansing

The downpour has shut down roads and knocked out power throughout the area. Check out what residents are saying about it on social media.

Roads were shut down and cars stranded from Monday’s flooding throughout Lansing thanks to the 3-inches of rain that feel in the from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Weather forecasters expect another inch of rain before the day is out, and the National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Lansing, East Lansing, Haslett, Edgemont Park, Holt and Okemos until 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Lansing State Journal report.

Thunderstorms could crop up later Monday afternoon and evening, and there also is a 20 percent chance of more rain Tuesday, the report added.
