MEET MARY SCLABASSI, CHIEF OF POLICE

Local AAUW branch features female in non-traditional role.

The local branch of the AAUW is proud to present one of Downriver’s most accomplished women on the evening of October 13. Mary Sclabassi was sworn in as the ninth chief of police in the history of the Taylor Police Department in 2012.

Chief Sclabassi represents a local woman in a non-traditional career and we look forward to hearing about her experiences attaining her position and her perspective from a law-enforcement viewpoint on various women’s issues.

The October 13th event begins at the DeSana Cultural Center at 81 Chestnut Street in Wyandotte, at 6:30 PM with a mill-around. The speaker is introduced at 7 PM. It is free and open to the public.
