Meeting Minutes: Council Expands Telecom Harassment Ordinance
At the July 5 meeting, Trenton City Council expanded its harassment ordinance to include telecommunications devices beyond just telephones.

Here are some highlights from the July 5 Trenton City Council meeting:
PRESENTATIONS
• Chief Fire Officer Vick presented two retiring captains with honoree plaques for their service. Jeffrey Borkoski and Alec Lesko (as well as an additional captain, who retired in June) represent 75 years of experience.

DEPARTMENT HEADS and OFFICIALS
• An amendment to Ordinance 754, in regard to the misuse of communications devices was passed. The telephone harassment policy was amended to include any telecommunication method.

• A public hearing on an application for obsolete property rehabilitation has been scheduled for July 18 at 7:45 p.m.— right before the next city council meeting. Alternate date for the hearing is August 1.
• The final steps in the process of approving the expansion of the Chrysler Plant were unanimously approved.
• In conjunction with the Chrysler Plant expansion, the Water and Sewer Reimbursement agreement was approved.
• The request to bid on a new ambulance was approved. The money for this vehicle will come from the pre-approved fire budget, which allowed $50,000 for the vehicle.
• Miracle of Michigan playground manufacturers were awarded the project of supplying the equipment for Slocum-Truax park. .
• Because of significant rain this season, emergency repairs to the three water pumps in have been approved. There are several defective parts in each pump, associated with the fan and the cooling. Per the City Engineer's suggestion, The Eden Corporation, the sole source provider, was awarded the emergency repairs for the pump station at the cost of $9,700.
