Police Called to Assist With Irate Patient
A man who was to undergo an evaluation per Brownstown Police struck a hospital employee at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center.

Police were called to Oakwood Southshore Medical Center to help restrain an irate 42-year-old patient at about 8:30 p.m. Dec. 26.
Doctors told police that before they arrived the man had tried to walk out of the hospital, but was stopped by hospital staff. Three employees were forced to wrestle the man to the ground. One employee was struck by the man's elbow above the left cheek and on the chin.
According to police it took about 12 hospital employees to hold the man down long enough to place restraints on him.

The man was eventually placed in restraints as police arrived. The injured employee told police he did not wish to press charges, he only wanted the event documented.
Brownstown Police had sent the patient to the hospital for an evaluation.
