Detroit is ranked as having one of the highest number of sex trafficking victims and is included in a global epidemic that annually nets several billion dollars.
Parents, educators, school bus drivers, school counselors, health care workers, law enforcement officers, and community advocates are welcome to learn how traffickers lure victims; how the internet, gaming apps, and social media are used in human trafficking; how to recognize victims of trafficking; how to report human trafficking; and how to talk to children about human trafficking.

Trenton and Downriver Area Soroptimist is a volunteer group that offers service by way of fundraising and donations, public awareness/educational programs, and hands-on assistance. These women give their time and talents to local food pantries, Vista Maria, First Step, Sparrow Project, Stanford House, Oakwood Beaumont Southshore, and to area women’s health institutions. This workshop is funded, in part, from the “Your Cause, Your Choice” grant from the DTE Foundation.
