Trenton Patch Player of the Game: Michael Czarnecki
The senior captain, who was able to return from a collarbone injury for the final two games of the year, more than likely played his final high school football game for his father, Bob, last Friday night. He went out with a bang.

Czarnecki showed why his injury was such a big setback for the Trojan offense this season. He scored three touchdowns and rushed for over 100 yards in Trenton's season finale win against Lincoln Park last Friday.
The first score came on a nice inside run in the first quarter to answer Lincoln Park's early touchdown. The next one was on an impressive display of speed in the second quarter when he started running left then ran across the middle and beat the defense to the right pylon of the endzone. The final touchdown came in the third quarter on an impressive dive after he shed a few Railsplitter tacklers.
"I just love playing football and I'm so happy to have gotten the chance to play these last couple of games," Czarnecki said. "Hopefully we can play another week."

A bittersweet night for Czarnecki and his family. His father, Bob, is the head coach at Trenton and both Czarneckis admitted that it was an emotional day.
"He is a heckuva football player," Bob said about his son. "He gives us such a spark and I'm just proud to be his coach and I'm real proud to be his dad."

"I got a little emotional in the locker room, but it really hit me yesterday in second hour for some reason," laughed Michael. "Practice was a little tough, too, yesterday. Just knowing that it's over. I broke down a little bit."
Czarnecki leaves behind a great football career where he lettered three years on the varsity team and won all-downriver honors. But for this season, in particular, he will be remembered for his grit and class in which he handled his broken collarbone that forced him to sit out of five games this season.
"I know it was tough for him. It was tough for all of us, but it was really tough for him and me, honestly. You never want to see a player go through that, especially your son," Bob said. "He handled it better than I did...he continued to encourage and be a leader for this team."
