Trenton Soroptimists Donate Dolls to First Step
Domestic Shelter Receives Gifts for Young Girls
Soroptimist of Trenton Area members, Nancy Nagle, Donna Fickeisen, Sarah Jones, and Bobbie Navarre presented some of the dolls donated by attendees at the “Mommy and Me Tea” on May 12th to the Family Services Staff at First Step, our local shelter for women and their children who are domestic assault survivors. The dolls will be given to little girls who may need them for comfort as they enter the shelter or for birthday presents.
Our next fundraiser to help support our projects is the 15th annual women-sponsored motorcycle ride, “Save the Girls,” to be held on September 8, 2018. The Soroptimists are inviting bikers as well as the general public to participate. All proceeds of the ride will benefit the worthy cause of raising awareness of women’s health issues, domestic violence, and human trafficking. Please see the attached flyer for details.
The Trenton Soroptimist organization meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at TV’s Grand Event, 2651 W. Jefferson in Trenton. All women are welcome to attend. You may contribute to the foundations that the Soroptimists support on smile.amazon.com and krogercommunityrewards.com.
