Trenton Soroptimists' Installation Banquet

Honors, installing new officers, and inducting new members

Prior to the start of the installation banquet, Trenton Soroptimists gathered at a local funeral home to say goodbye to one of our gems, Gwen Brannick, a 42-year member. She was the keeper of our birthday and pin fines “pig.” Gwen had a heart of gold, a wicked wit, and kept us all amused. We will miss her terribly.

Former Midwestern Region Governor Terry Morreau inducted the following new members: Taylor Alpert (Gini’s Lebold’s granddaughter), Ann Peraino, Betty Peraino (Ann’s mother-in-law), Barbara Saunders, and Paetrah Thompson (President Karen’s Collin’s daughter-in-law-to-be).

Terry also installed the following women to their new office positions: President Karen Collins, Vice-president Abby Premoe, Treasurer Chris Speedie, Secretary Brigette Rizzuto, Directors Sarah Hill and Cathy Infantado, and new office, Vice-president of Resources Nancy Nagle.

2017 President Linda Crisi presented a five-year membership milestone pin to Kim Stoddart and to Carol Oakley (returning member), and bestowed a 35-year membership milestone pin to Gini Lebold.

Linda distributed several perfect attendance awards, and then announced our Rookie of the Year, Sarah Hill and Key Member of the Year, Abby Premoe.

Pat Bryan, 2017 Soroptimist of the Year, happily introduced Nancy Nagle as the 2018 Soroptimist of the Year. In her 26 years of membership, Nancy has held all of the office positions. A master of writing grants, she has garnered a significant amount of money for the club and for Vista Maria. Her dynamic personality and tenacity have served Soroptimists in every way, whether it’s diving headfirst into every fundraiser and activity or mentoring the newest Soroptimist members. She is so knowledgeable that a position that never before existed in Soroptimist has been created just for her: the vice-president of resources. A prior Soroptimist of the Year, her service to and expertise in all matters have most certainly earned her this prestigious recognition. Pat later received her 2017 SOY plaque.
